David Byrne / Brian Eno Record Releases… to the Web
Monday, August 18th, 2008Do yourself a favor and start listening to Everthing That Happens, Will Happen Today now:
Upon first listen, Everything Happens sounds all-around better and more genuine than Byrne and Eno’s first go-around, 1981’s My Life in the Bush of Ghosts but then again, we’re all much older, and as genius goes, Byrne/Eno’s is only more refined/defined.
Listen to this record. Accessibility has much less to do with commercialism when all’s you gotta do is press play to hear one of the greatest records of the year. Everything is for sale. It’s the breakthrough release on a new platform engineered by Topspin Media, whose CEO, Ian Rogers (one-time dude behind Launch –> Y! Music GM), knows a thing or sixteen about the intricacies and counter-progressiveness of the rekkid industry.
Now if only they didn’t have to sell tickets to their shows via Ticketmaster….
Brian Eno and I recently finished our first collaboration in about 30 years. The name of the new record is Everything That Happens Will Happen Today. For the most part, Brian did the music and I wrote some tunes, words and sang. It’s familiar but completely new as well. We’re pretty excited. The album is available exclusively from this Web site. You can stream all of the songs for free and purchase it in a variety of digital and physical formats, including a limited edition Deluxe Package designed by Stefan Sagmeister. All formats can be downloaded immediately and physical CDs will be shipped in the Fall.
